Sorting the Report
Next, let's set up our sorting terms. We want the report to show the kids' names in alphabetical order. We return to the custom report record:
We click the link to add a sorting term:
We add the child's last name as our first sorting term and save our selection:
We are returned to the report record and see that our sorting term has been added. Now we'll repeat the process to add a sorting term for the child's first name, and finally we add the client id (in case we have two children with the same name):
We see our sorting term. But Sally talks with the nurse, and the nurse knows the kids by their first name. She asks Sally to re-order the report by the child's first name. We click the link to order the sorting terms:
We use the arrow buttons to move "First Name" to the top of the sorting order:
After re-ordering our sort terms, we return to the custom report record:
Let's run the report again to review the sorting order:
We see that the report is now sorted by child's first name, then last name:
