Transferring an Item to a Different Category

You may occasionally need to transfer items from one category to another. To do this, navigate to the inventory item record. Under "Actions", select "Transfer to different category":

Now select the new category:

Then click "Save":

You will see that the item was transferred to the new category:

In the "Item History" section, you will see a report of the transfer:

When returning to the list of inventory categories, you will see that the item was transferred to the new category:

Flagging an Item as Lost

You may need to flag an inventory item as "lost". This may happen when the item is checked-out, or while in your possession. To indicate an inventory item is lost, navigate to the item record, expand the action section, then click the link "Item Lost":

Complete the lost item form, then click "Save":

You will be returned to the item record. Note how the status has changed to "Lost", and information about the lost item is displayed on the item record.

In the "Actions" section, you will notice that the item is not available for check-out.

The item history also records the "lost" status:

Flagging an Item as Found

The process for flagging a previously lost item as "found" is similar. First navigate to the item record. Under the "Actions" block, click the link "Item Found":

You can update the lost/found notes, then click "Save":

You will then be returned to the item record. Note that the status has been updated.

The actions have also been updated. In this example, the item is again available for check-out.

Removing an Item from the Inventory

You may occasionally need to remove items from the inventory. After removing an item, Delightful Labor will retain the item information and history, in the event that you need to restore it.

To remove an item from the inventory, navigate to the item record, then under the "Actions" block, click the link "Remove item from inventory":

You will now see a pop-up screen that asks you to confirm:

After clicking "OK", you will be returned to the item category screen. Note that our item no longer appears.

Restoring an Item to the Inventory

After removing an item from the inventory, you may later need to restore it to inventory. Delightful Labor maintains a catalog of items removed from the inventory. To restore an item, first navigate to the removed items catalog:

Expand the category where the removed item resides by clicking on the view (viewIcon) icon:

Next, view the item's record by selecting the view (viewIcon) icon:

From the action section of the item record, click "Return item to inventory":

The item has now been restored:

If we return to the inventory category screen....

We see that the item has been restored there as well.
