Uploading the Software

At this point we have downloaded and unpacked the Delightful Labor package, created our database, and initialized the new database. Now it is time to upload the software to our web hosting account.

Note that there are several ways to do this (via ftp, for example). In this example, we are going to use the cPanel File Manager to help us upload the software.

From the main cPanel screen, click on "File Manager" under "Files":

Install

We select "Web Root" for our initial view:

Install

Click on the public_html directory to expand the view:

Install

Now select "New Folder". We will create a folder to contain the Delightful Labor software and be accessible to you from your web browser.

Install

In this example, we are creating a folder called "gofreedonia", but you can name it anything you like. You may want to keep the name simple (no blanks or funny characters) because this name will later become part of the web address. We'll show you how it all ties together later, but for now, we will create a folder called "gofreedonia":

Install

When we are returned to the main File Manager menu, we see our new folder.

Install

Double-click on the folder icon:

Install

We now see our new, empty directory.

Install

Now let's upload the Delightful Labor software package. Click on the "Upload" link:

Install

We are asked to specify the upload file. Click "Choose File":

Install

You will now see a screen that allows you to select the upload file. Select the zip file that you recently downloaded from SourceForge:

Install

After the upload is complete, click the link to return you the File Manager screen:

Install

There's our uploaded file!

Install

Click the file to highlight it:

Install

Now click "Extract" to un-zip the Delightful Labor files.

Install

The default path will be the directory you recently created. Click "Extract File(s)":

Install

In just a few seconds, all the files will be unpacked.

Install

We now see a new directory called "delightful" containing the software package.
