Account User Groups

Account user groups allow you to limit access to various Delightful Labor features. You can place users into groups, and then limit access personalized tables and client programs based on group membership.

Note that administrators have access to all Delightful Labor features.

Setting Up User Groups

To set up your account user groups, log in as an administrator, then select "Admin / Lists":

User Permission Groups

Next, under groups click on the link for "User Permission Groups":

User Permission Groups

Initially there are no user permission groups, so we click the link to add a new one:

User Permission Groups

We enter our group name and click "Save":

User Permission Groups

We see our user group has been added.

User Permission Groups

We repeat this process until all our user groups are added. We can always come back later to add, edit, or remove user groups.

Placing Users in User Groups

Now that we've set up our user groups, the next step is to place users in the appropriate groups. In this example, Debbie Doright is involved in adult and children's services, so we will add her to these groups. From the user account directory, we select Debbie's record:

User Permission Groups

In Debbie's account record, we expand the "User Permissions Groups" section:

User Permission Groups

We select and add the appropriate user groups:

User Permission Groups

We now see that Debbie has been added to these groups.

Assigning Permissions to a Personalized Table

You can limit user access to personalized tables by assigning the tables to one or more permissions groups. To assign permission groups, we go to the personalized table section:

User Permission Groups

We next view the personalized table record:

User Permission Groups

On the table record, we see the section entitled "Permission Groups". From this multi-select list, we click on the permission group requirements.

Note that if no permission groups are set for a table, all users have access to the table.

User Permission Groups

This table will now only be accessible to administrators and users in the "Program Services: Children's Programs" group. Note that if more than one user group had been selected, users would have to be members of all the user groups to access the table.

User Permission Groups

Assigning Permissions to a Client Program

As with personalized tables, you can limit user access to client programs assigning permission groups to the program. To assign permission groups, select "Admin / Personalization / Client Programs":

User Permission Groups

Next, click the view icon (viewIcon) to see the client program record:

User Permission Groups

On the client program record, we see the permissions group section. Initially there are no permission groups associated with this client program, meaning that all users have access to the program.

User Permission Groups

We select and add our permission group:

User Permission Groups

Now only administrators and users who are members of "Program Services: Children's Programs" will have access to this client program.
